Planning is underway for the first Love & Harmony Cruise, which is set to run from February 27 to March 3, 2017, and travel from Fort Lauderdale in Florida to Jamaica and back. DJ Jabba, a popular radio personality in New York, is on the cruise’s organizing team and reports that more than 80 percent of the cabins have already been booked. Organizers expect full occupancy by the time the cruise departs from Fort Lauderdale. According to Jabba, the response has surprised him, as it is the first time he ha been involved in anything like this. One of the big attractions of the cruise is the inclusion of Beres Hammond as part of the entertainment; deejay Shabba Ranks, a Grammy winner, will also appear. The cruise follows the successful “Welcome to Jamrock” cruise organized by Stephen and Damian Marley, but Jabba does not want to compare the two events. He says that his cruise will provide world-class foundation acts and emerging artistes and is targeted at a different market than the Marley cruise. Many activities have been planned for the passengers. On the first day, Hammond will host a “Welcome Party” with Internet radio personality Kingsley “Raggashanti” Stewart. Music will be provided by DJ Roy.
