Drake and Jamaican dancehall artiste Popcaan have joined forces to record a reggae-influenced single entitled “Controlla.” Late on March 28, 2016, there was talk on the Internet about some new snippets of Drake’s music that had been leaked on YouTube and Soundcloud. One of these was “Controlla,” which includes OVO’s resident dancehall musician Popcaan, and the other was “These Days.” The latter is a Drake feature for a song called “Things I Forgot to Do” from Babeo Baggins. Both the leaked tunes have since been taken offline. “Controlla” is said to display heavy influences of Caribbean music, and some fans described it as the unofficial sequel to “Work” by Rihanna, a track on which Drake performs. Drake is preparing to release a new studio album, “Views from the 6,” shortly.
