I was so excited to finally kick back and relax after reaching our destination! But the first thing I wanted to do the following morning was to stock up on our favourite fruits and veg. Clean eating and good nutrition is such an important part of my daily routine and I always make sure that I know exactly what I’m putting in my body. You should definitely check out your local farmers market as they have the freshest produce and you get a chance to support the local community 🙂 Just down the road from our villa (which is amazing by the way!) is St. Mary’s Prospect Market in Ocho Rios, which runs every Friday from 6am to 6pm.
As you guys may be able to tell by now, the playsuit is a staple in my summer wardrobe. They’re super easy to slip into and voila! Your outfit is pretty much done. The one I’m wearing here is an oldie but a goodie. What I love about this playsuit is the drawstring in the back that cinches you around the waist and the material that drapes so loosely around your hips giving the illusion of a dress. The drawstring and the button down front creates a very cute figure.
And my H&M straw tote was perfect for the market as I was able to fit most of my fruits in it! 🙂
It was the people at the market that made my morning special 🙂 Everyone I met was so so helpful and took the time to explain to me where all the produce was grown; from the lettuce to the melons to the coconuts (which was super thirst-quenching on this hot morning!). Ocho Rios (or “Ochi” as most Jamaicans call it) is located on the northern coast of the island. If you ever have a chance to visit this beautiful little town or are a returning visitor, you should definitely add St. Mary’s Prospect Market to your to-do list.
