LOCATION: University of the West Indies, Mona
DESCRIPTION: Providing overall visionary leadership and new direction in the discipline of Pediatrics in the Department; Providing very strong advocacy for the Department at all levels; Creating and maintaining positive and productive relationships with local private and public sector stakeholders as well as regional and international agencies; Fostering intra/inter Faculty/Campus teaching and research networks; Attracting external research and development funding
QUALIFICATIONS: Specialist qualification in Pediatrics recognized by The University of the West Indies, such as DM, MCPC OR Board Certification in Pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics; Further consideration would be given to candidates who possess: an additional postgraduate degree from an approved and accredited University/Institution; formal specialist training; expertise in a sub-specialty; Substantial experience in teaching and research at the tertiary level; A track record of distinguished, original and innovative work; high quality; Publications in peer-reviewed international journals; Outstanding success in and wide recognition of professional activities; Corporate membership in a reputable professional institution; Active engagement in industry; Proven success in grant applications; The Department places high priority on individuals who can work well in a team environment; Possess good communication and interpersonal skills; A good command of English is essential; Be inspirational, dynamic and visionary; Promote collegiality, transparency and inclusiveness; Interact successfully with all levels of staff; Be self-motivated; Work well with students
