As of December 18, 2015, travelers will be able to take a direct, nonstop flight from Los Angeles, California, to Montego Bay in Jamaica. American Airlines has announced its new route, which will fly from L.A,’s International Airport (LAX) to Jamaica’s Sangster International (MBJ). This makes American Airlines the only carrier to offer the nonstop option from the West Coast of the U.S. to Jamaica. The airline currently offers 150 daily flights to over 30 destinations in the Caribbean from U.S. hubs in Miami, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Charlotte, among others. By adding the LAX-MBJ route, the airline will feature 58 weekly flights to Montego Bay and Kingston from its combined hub locations. The new route will take about six hours aboard a Boeing 737-800 plane, which features 16 first-class seats and 144 seats in its main section
