The Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) and Registrar General’s Department (RGD) are among the government agencies who will be offering various services to patrons at this year’s Independence Village at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre. The Village, which will run from Emancipation Day, Monday, August 1 to Independence Day, Saturday, August 6, from noon to 5 p.m. will be open to the public with free admission.

In keeping with the 2016 Emancipation and Independence theme “Let’s Get Together and Feel Alright”, government agencies whose main focus is to service the public are taking this opportunity to bring their services to the patrons of the Independence Village.

The Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) will be offering patrons “Three Day” and “Seven Day” passport services as well as “Unconditional Landing” and “Extension of Stay” immigration services and applications for Jamaican citizenship.

The Registrar General’s Department will be offering information and applications for birth, death and marriage certificates as well as Record Updating activities.

There will also be daily and nightly activities for the entire family including live performances, exhibitions, food court, petting zoo, a Kiddies Village, rides and other attractions.
