The Jamaican men’s Olympic Development 4×100 meter relay squad comprised of Oshane Bailey, Tyquendo Tracey, Ramone Barnswell and Sandrey Davidson finished this thrilling track sprinting event in first place at the 128th Penn Relays Carnival at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. This talented Jamaica-based quartet sizzled, while clocking a time of 39.59 seconds to finish ahead of Ghana (39.71 seconds) and Garden State Track Club (40.14 seconds).
Sandrey Davidson’s anchor leg was superb in that he had to make up ground after receiving the baton pass before streaking to cross the finish line much to the delight of the thousands of Jamaicans that packed the Franklin Field stands.
This cadre of 4 x 100 men were the only team out of three other Jamaican senior-level relay squads to compete in the Olympic Development section of the event and emerge victorious on the final day of Penn Relays.
After the conclusion of Penn Relays 2024, a few of the members of the victorious 4 x 100 meter relay squad headed to the World Athletics Relays that took place in the Bahamas the following weekend.
