On this day in Jamaican History: Usain Bolt ran a time of 9.76 in the 100m

On May 3, 2008, Usain Bolt ran a time of 9.76 in the 100 meter race at the Jamaica International Invitational at the Jamaican National Stadium. At that time it was the second-fastest performance in the history of the 100 meter event; second only to fellow Jamaican citizen Asafa Powell’s 9.74 world record set the previous year in Rieti, Italy.
