Montserrat plans to be actively involved in the commemoration activities of the 60th anniversary of the University of the West Indies (UWI). Celebrations will commence from 8 November to 16 November 2008.

The commemorative events planned for Montserrat include a relay race, an interfaith service, literary workshops, a country conference, an awards banquet, and a literary festival.

The Prime Minister of Jamaica has consented to be the keynote speaker at the scheduled award ceremony. Additionally, the Pro Vice Chancellor will be in attendance.

As a result, the University of the West Indies Alumni Association is requesting the assistance of UWI alumni to help plan these celebratory activities, in an effort to ensure the success of the celebrations.
