Department of State Honors Comcel Parent Company, Trilogy International Partners, for social and economic contributions in Haiti

Trilogy International Partners, the U.S. parent company of Comcel — the provider of Voila cell phone service — is one of eleven finalists selected for the U.S. Secretary of State’s prestigious 2009 Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE).  These eleven U.S. companies were chosen from 42 nominations submitted by American ambassadors around the world.  ACE finalists are international business leaders who recognize the vital role that U.S. businesses play abroad as good corporate citizens.

Trilogy International Partners in Haiti is among the final candidates for the award for having a positive impact on the Haitian economy, for promoting education and for equitable hiring practices, including respect for the employment right of the disabled.  Trilogy’s diverse educational activities include youth rehabilitation programs, scholarships, internships, computer labs, sports programs and support for the arts.

The 2009 ACE winners will be announced at the annual ceremony hosted by the Secretary of State later this fall.

The other ten (10) finalists for 2009 are:
