The Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) has been recognized with the Global Spirit of Relay Award by the American Cancer Society. Yulit Gordon, the executive director of the Jamaica Cancer Society, expressed gratitude to the JNBS for supporting the annual Relay for Life for the past 14 years. Yulit said that the team consistently delivered a commitment an an authentic “Team Spirit of Relay.” The organization has a passion for raising funds to fight cancer in Jamaica, said Yulit, and this was one of the reasons the American Cancer Society awarded the honor to the JNBS. In 2015, Team JNBS raised more than $1.4 million, or 42 percent of the total funds received as a team donation at the event. The Global Spirit of Relay Awards were introduced in 2013 to recognize the teams, volunteers, and staff who make significant contributions to the success of their relay events.
