Day eight started for Team Jamaica with the women’s 4x400m relay in which they were able to advance. Next, the men’s 4x400m relay took place in which Jamaica also qualified for. The last event for both the men and women Jamaican teams was the 4x400m relays in which both teams won gold. The competitors for Team Jamaica on the women’s side were; Veronica Campbell-Brown, Natasha Morrison, Elaine Thompson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. The competitors in the men’s event who also won gold were; Nesta Carter, Asafa Powell, Nickel Ashmeade and of course, Usain Bolt. Team Jamaica currently sits in 2nd place in the medal table with six gold, two silver and three bronze medals. As far as the placing table goes, the United States has a hefty lead with 198 points while Kenya is behind with 173 and Jamaica in 3rd with 119.
