Jamaican-American community activist Wesley Frater has organized Florida’s only all-star game to honor the top 100 high school football athletes for nearly 20 years. Frater and Tournament of Champions Inc. provide south Florida athletes with a chance to showcase their skills after the end of the regular season. Frater keeps his focus on the “tremendous talent” located in Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and other regions in south Florida. The event attracts some of the top prospects from south Florida every year, showcasing both the athletes who have already made a commitment to a particular college and those who are looking for more exposure and attention from potential schools.

Frater says Tournament of Champions is a success because it represents more than a game. Student athletes must perform some type of community service in order to participate, as well as attend a gathering where professional NFL players discuss the downside of being a celebrity athlete. Frater tries to teach the athletes about the reality of professional sports, noting that many pros fail financially and return home penniless when they retire. Frater is committed to helping student athletes all year round; he is always looking for corporate sponsors, and he also organizes the only all-star high school basketball game in Florida.
