Located in a breadfruit tree in the tropical rain forest in the hills of Portland, the 3-floored Laughing Treehouse will bring big smiles to your face with its spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and the island’s hills and valleys. Llewellyn Clarke, the owner of the treehouse who is also known as Jah Luu, said that the building of the structure started in 2011 in response to a Japanese woman vacationer who asked about treehouses and wanted to stay in one. Since Jah Luu is a Rasta and has a love of nature, it did not take much to convince him that this was a good idea. The treehouse is built on a foundation of concrete columns designed to help the massive tree support the structure. He says he decided on the name because he has seen lots of “joy and laughter” from those who have visited the house.
