Cinchona Botanical Garden in St. Andrew ranges between 4,500 and 6,500 feet in altitude. It was established in 1868 and is the only one of its kind in the Caribbean. On a visit to Cinchona, you’ll marvel at the majestic panoramas of Strawberry Hill, the Blue Mountains, the Liguanea plains, and even Kingston from its stirring heights. The garden’s 40 acres were planted for Asian Tea, as well as various European crops. Its environment has been compared with the volcanic slopes of Chiriqui in Panama.
