Join in the 277th staging of the Accompong Maroon Festival in St. Elizabeth. The Maroons trace their ancestry to African slaves freed by the Spanish who took refuge from the British in remote parts of the island and established settlements there. The festival dates back the 19th century and features traditional songs, dances, drums and the Abeng horn. You can also get tasty foods at the new African-style Bickle Village.

In case you missed any of the past “365 Things to Do, See and Eat in Jamaica“, here they are all together.
