Finding Your Passion Outside the Bedroom

Taking risks is never easy to do.  There are so many pros and cons involved that sometimes we quit before we have even gotten started.  That job is making you miserable and you want to quit, but you are afraid to lose the security of health benefits and the transit checks.   You want to do something else but you don’t know what.

This is a difficult decision to make, but I would recommend that you take the time, even if it is ten minutes a day to reach inside of you and discover what you are passionate about.  If you don’t, I can assure you that you are going to stay in that miserable job for a long time.  You don’t want that and I don’t want you to do that.

Begin to read books on anything that you have a likening for.  It does not have to be something grand.  I know of a woman who is an International Storyteller.  She basically tells stories for a living all over the world.  That was her passion and she used it to create her dream.  You too have a passion.  It’s just hidden under all the responsibilities of life and the “should’s, “must” and the “you need to’s”.  Push that all aside and start to take sometime to find out exactly what you love to do when the children are sleeping or when your mother is on vacation and can’t bug you or while your significant other is away on a business trip.

The Internet is really the information super highway.  Hop on to the Internet and start researching.  Read about people who have set out to do what you want to do.  Buy books.  Amazon.com sells used books at ridiculously low prices.  I once bought one of my books for $2.  I never got a better deal for my money.

While you are doing your research, don’t quit your day job just yet.  You still have to pay your bills.  During this time, you save as much as possible and clear up all of your outstanding bills.  Then when you are ready to quit your day job, the majority of your bills will be cleared away and you will have enough savings to fall back on while you are waiting for your passion to generate an income.  Read, read and read more.  That’s the only way to find out where your passion lies.
Always be on the look out for new opportunities and never ever give up.  You know the old saying, “Rome was not built in a day”.  When I began creating this newsletter, I had so many setbacks that I thought I would never get it off the ground.  I was able to purchase the website, but then found out that the website does not offer newsletter programming.  But I did not let that stop me.

Success never comes at the first try, but failure will come if you stop trying.  So keep trying and exploring and constantly seeking.  It’s the only way for you to find your passion.
