Despite the unpredictable weather at the 2025 Penn Relays on Saturday, April 26th, Jamaica’s Hydel High School proved once again why they’re a dominant force in girls’ track and field. Their 4×400 relay team of Natassia Fletcher, Abigail Campbell, Sashana Johnson, and Jody-Ann Daley delivered a commanding performance, crossing the line in a blazing 3:30.42—smashing the previous meet record of 3:32.77 set by Hydel themselves in 2022.

From the gun, Hydel controlled the race. By the second baton exchange, they had opened up a 20-metre lead over the field. Bullis School (Potomac, Maryland) and Holmwood Tech were neck and neck behind them, with Edwin Allen right on their heels. The battle for second raged on through the third leg, but Hydel remained untouchable.

Bullis, featuring Tatum Lynn, Kennedy Brown, Chriselle Campbell, and Sydney Sutton, mounted a strong push on the anchor leg but couldn’t close the gap. Edwin Allen’s team of Shanique Cassanova, Jounee Armstrong, Kellyann Carr, and Marria Crossfield claimed third in 3:36.14, while Holmwood Tech followed in fourth at 3:38.80. Immaculate Conception rounded out the top six with Samoya Brown, Kimberly Wright, Shevi-Anne Shim, and Davine Dickenson.

Hydel’s win wasn’t just fast—it was clinical. Their split times were exceptional across the board: Fletcher (53.06), Campbell (52.46), Johnson (52.47), and Daley (52.28). With this victory, Hydel has now captured six of the last eight 4×400 titles at Penn Relays, including four straight. If there were any doubts before, their dynasty status is now undeniable.
