Jamo Afrique, an Afro-Caribbean restaurant operated by Fifi, an entrepreneur and wife of Prince Dilly Umenyiora, had its grand opening after years of planning and fine-tuning. The venue is located in Oniru Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos, and its launch featured celebrities along with the family members and friends of Fifi. Fifi decided to forge her own path in business after working at her husband’s company Dilly Motors for years. The restaurant features state-of-the-art furnishings, a buffet, a la carte meals and excellent drinks. Fifi is a graduate in Foreign Language and Literature from the University of Port Harcourt. Jamo Afrique specializes in Nigerian and Jamaican dishes. Fifi says her husband loves Jamaican food, which is not readily available in Nigeria. The restaurant hopes to attract customers who want something different from the usual continental, Chinese or Nigerian dining experiences.
