What is one thing people would be surprised that you know how to do?
I’m a lover of music and all that surrounds the art of it’s production, many people can’t tell that I’m capable of mixing music, kind of like a Disc Jock.

A little birdie told us that you are a lock to win the celebrity cooks off at the South Florida Jerk Festival. We don’t want you to give away any secrets but tells us the comfort food you love cooking and eating?
Definitely creamed potatoes and grilled chicken with a side of broccoli, it’s a quick, easy and healthy meal to prepare and enjoy.

Other than Jamaica, if you were given a 10 day all expense vacation where would you go…
I would love to visit Cuba, they have a rich history and I would love to experience it in its most natural form.

The movie or TV show you watch when you need a good laugh…
That would have to be The Fresh Prince of Belair series, I can always count on the classic for a good laugh.

The book, movie or song that changed your life?
The Pursuit of Happiness. Truly a humbling film, that shows the harsh realities people may face within their lives, but keeping focus on what is truly important, Family.

Your favorite item of clothing is…
Anything white, I can appreciate any item of clothing in the shade.

How has your life changed after the Miss Jamaica World pageant?
Ive definitely had quite an impeccable journey so far. I’ve had the opportunity of sharing stages and platform with people of great influence including our Prime Minister, The Honorable Andrew Holness, Members of Parliament and Universal Leaders. I’ve also had the chance to project my passion for causes I stand firm by, namely special needs and endometriosis. Another life change would speak to having the opportunity to represent my beautiful island Jamaica on an international stage. I have been learning and growing from the experience and training from Laura Butler & Fusion Consulting for which I am grateful. I have also had the opportunity to travel and I am looking forward to the Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival in Florida on November 13!. I will continue to work hard to make my country proud and create great memories.

If you could tell yourself something 10 years ago what would it be?
I’d say “Ashlie, you have quite an impeccable journey ahead of you, continue to stay focused, work hard and make the best of the opportunities that your life may bring”

Your mother was right about…
My mother has been right about many things and I continue to realize how valuable all her lessons were. But the ones that stand out to me the most are patience, maintenance of a high moral character and the act of having equal respect for anyone you come in contact with.

You can meet and greet Ashlie White Barrett at the South Florida Grace Jerk Festival on November 13th, 2016.
