Sanneta Myrie, Miss Jamaica World of 2015, will travel some 8,700 miles from Kingston to Sanya, the “tropical gateway to China.” More than 100 of the most beautiful women in the world will gather at the Beauty Crown Grand Theatre in Sanya on December 19, 2015, to compete for the crown of Miss World. The theater is one of the largest in the world for hosting arts and entertainment events; it was designed specifically for the Miss World pageant of 2003. It features extraordinary architecture and displays various treasures of the Orient. Sanya is located on Hainan Island off the south coast of the Republic of China. Jamaica’s Sanneta Myrie is hoping to share her island’s unique culture and spirit during the competition. Sanneta has overwhelming support from Jamaica’s people and says she is both excited and humbled at representing her nation at the 65th staging of annual Miss World competition. Both she and her home island hope that Sanneta will be the winner of the Miss World crown.
