Mother I love you

as I attempt

to remember

the warmth of

your womb

the softness of

your heartbeat

as we connect

as you bring forth

life—the humaness of me

Mother I thank

the Creator for you

and in yours

and my various of moods

of finding the self

you never ceases

to comfort me

you never ceases

to love me.
