Netball
Jamaica’s Women’s netball teams are one of the most respected around the world and they have always ranked in the top 10 worldwide over the past few years. In the 1993 World Netball Competition Jamaica finished third in a field of 22 countries. Netball is the No. 1 one women’s sport in Jamaica and the majority of the schools in Jamaica participate. The support for netball is so popular is so impressive that it receives full media coverage on TV, radio and the newspapers.
Hockey
Even though it may not be one of the most popular sports on the island, Jamaica plays field hockey at the high school, regional & international levels. Jamaica’s women’s and men’s national team are very active in international competition.
