Goal! Reggae Girl Sherona Forrester Receives Rhodes Scholarship

Sherona Forrester, 24, a member of Jamaica’s Senior Football team and former captain of the women’s team at the University of the West Indies Mona, has been named the Rhodes scholar for 2016 by Sir Patrick Allen, Jamaica’s Governor General. Forrester was selected for the honor from a field that comprised five male candidates and two other female candidates. Forrester, who attended Glenmuir High School, is a part-time lecturer and UWI. She will travel to Oxford University and study for a Masters degree in economics.
