Something Magical

There is a longing that does not go away
It could be morning, night or middle of the day
I think of you and my heart does a flip
I could be standing still or bouncing the baby on my hip

They say the ardor dampens with the stress of married life
With the responsibilities of being a mother and a wife
But I really can’t agree because after all these years
The thought of you still does something magical to me
