The finals for the first annual Kingston based dancing competition, Twerk Fest Jamaica, is set to create waves this weekend at D’Entrance, located at 80 Constant Spring Road across from Consumer Plaza.
The first of its kind in the capital city of Kingston, Twerk Fest Jamaica will see girls twerking for the title of Twerk Queen 2016 and 500,000 in cash and prizes come Saturday night.
“Twerking has taken over the world. Everyone is doing it, so why not turn it into a competition to see who can do it best? The word twerk definitely has an international appeal and for the future stagings of this event we want to take it to that level, with women from all over the world coming to Jamaica for the competition” Twerk Fest CEO Kareem Phillips explained
The competition is open to women only, over the age of 18 and will showcase other dancing styles including the signature twerking, the competition aims at giving women an opportunity to showcase their talent and love of the dancing culture of dancehall.
The event completed its main audition last week and the promoters are very pleased with the turnout and talent of the ladies who will be vying for the crown this weekend.
The main prizes include; a First place prize of $150,000 cash and a Samsung Smart TV, Second place $100,000 cash and a $25,000 gift voucher from clothing store – The Plug and a third place prize of $50,000 cash and a $25,000 gift voucher from Havendale Health Care Center.
The Twerk Fest finals at D Entrance this Saturday is absolutely free for patrons to attend and begins at 6pm until 2am. Performances include Chinny Unique, Swat Twins, and Dancehall artiste Savage, the event is hosted by Pamputae, Bad Boy Trevor and Orville Hall from Dance Xpressionz. Patrons will also have the ability to win cash prizes on the night of the event as well!.
