The 2016 Reggae Grammy nominations include four Jamaicans who are up for the Best Reggae Album of the Year. The National Academy of Recording, Arts and Sciences made the nominee announcement. Vying for the top album award are Morgan Heritage for “Strictly Roots,” Jah Cure for “The Cure,” Barrington Levy for “Acousticalevy,” and Luciano for “Zion Awake.” Also in the running is Rocky Dawuni of Ghana for “Branches of The Same Tree.” Grammy awards are given in recognition of outstanding achievements in the music industry. There are 83 total categories of awards. The award ceremony will be broadcast on television from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 15, 2016.
