Caribbean Council of Presidents of Georgia (CCPG) Join Forces with Dominica Atlanta Community Association (DACA) to Provide Disaster Relief to the Island of Dominica August 29, 2015, Lithonia, Georgia

The Caribbean Council of Presidents of Georgia (CCPG) is currently collaborating with the Dominica Atlanta Community Association (DACA) to provide emergency disaster relief to the citizens of Dominica. The island of Dominica sustained massive damage on August 26, 2015, when tropical storm Erika hit the Caribbean country.

Recent reports confirmed 20 individuals lost their lives and several million dollars of damages was estimated. The government indicated that this unforeseen disaster has put the country 20 years behind economically.

CCPG and DACA will be coordinating the relief efforts in the metro Atlanta area. This includes logistical undertaking such as: drop off locations; volunteer outreach; donation requests, resource delivery and dissemination of information.

The Caribbean Council of Presidents of Georgia (CCPG) is a non-profit organization consisting of Caribbean groups in the Metro Atlanta area. The group provides supportive assistance in response to issues in the local Caribbean diaspora and, disasters in the Caribbean region.

Caribbean Association of Georgia will be collaborating with the council in collecting items for Dominica.
Laparkan shipping has volunteered to assist and has offered there venue as a drop off point.
A list of the needed items will be distributed. There will other drop off points to be announced.
