I couldnt go to court during hurricane threat

QUESTION: Dear Legal Wiz,
I had a court date during the time there was a threat of hurricane. There was heavy rains for a week.I did not see any bulletin on the news about the Court and the landlord has not said anything to me.
I want to know whats up, but I cant find the paper I was given by the bailiff.
Dave Plummer

RESPONSE: Dear Dave,
Its possible that the court was closed and case put off. Why dont you go into the courthouse office and ask the clerks who can assist you better. Give them the date you were supposed to be there and against whom.
Ask them for the number of the claim.
It was the first day so generally the Judge would not have made an order.
