Day 290 of 365 Things to Do, See & Eat in Jamaica – Don’t Miss the Mento

Before there was reggae and ska, there was mento, an original Jamaican musical genre known for its acoustic sounds. Listening to The Jolly Boys on Friday nights at the Geejam Hotel in Port Antonio is as good as it gets. This legendary band first played together in 1945 so they know what they’re doing. Enjoy the music on the outdoor stage at the Bushbar – one of the most celebrated and legendary musical performances to be had on the island Not to be missed.
