Ole Farmers Association North America Awards Eight Scholarships To Case Students
The Ole Farmers Association North America (OFANA) recently presented eight scholarships to students attending the College of Agriculture, Science, & Education (CASE) in Jamaica

The Ole Farmers Association North America (OFANA) recently presented eight scholarships to students attending the College of Agriculture, Science, & Education (CASE) in Jamaica on January 30, 2016, valued JA$2.8M or US$28,500, in an effort to foster the advancement of agricultural-related science degrees at the College.

Since 2010, OFANA has awarded Agriculture students with 25 scholarships in keeping with the mission of the organization.“…We expect students to show their appreciation by attaining the highest level of academic excellence and becoming a coach and mentor to fellow students” expressed President of OFANA, Wendell Codner.

Currently, OFANA is funding a Plant Tissue Lab at the main campus of CASE. This is a great endeavor whereby the college will be able to “breed plants that are better suited for certain environmental conditions” said Codner. Furthermore, this project “will provide greater monetized and educational value” asserted CASE President, Dr. Derrick Deslandes. As such, OFANA will host various fundraising activities to raise the necessary funds for the lab, including the 2016 Union of Jamaican Alumni Associations (UJAA) (USA) Inc. Mega Raffle.

To learn more about the mega raffle and other opportunities to donate, visit the OFANA website: http://www.olefarmers.com/ or contact Wendell Codner by email: [email protected].
