Familiar Shapes

Twisting and shouting
is what they are accustomed to see
Not the family man, doctor, lawyer, Indian chief, not me.

Car wash attendant window washing personality
Shelter attendant hallway resident

Malcolm said "Those who hunt in the jungle are also hunted".

When they see me they think they know who I am a familiar shape
Part of their plan

Malcolm said "those who hunt in the jungle are also hunted".

They know the names of my children
But not there needs
Some offer to help
Only if I do as they please

Malcolm said "Those who hunt in the jungle are also hunted".

I’m robbed of my education
But nobody pays for that crime
I think they are more concerned with that familiar shape
The one that begs for a dime
Malcolm said "Those who hunt in the jungle are also hunted".
My neighborhood is littered with Human tragedy
Some offer to help with the cleanup
But they never change the condition or my reality

Malcolm said "Those who hunt in the jungle are also hunted".
