Jamaica has qualified to compete in several relay events at the 2024 Paris Olympics. These include the men’s and women’s 4×100-meter relay, the women’s 4×400-meter relay, and the mixed 4×400-meter relay. A total of 70 teams qualified for the relays after participating in the World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas on May 5, 2024. Fourteen teams in each of the women’s and men’s 4×100 meters and 4×400 meters along with the mixed 4×400 meters automatically qualified for the Paris Games.

Jamaica’s qualifying athletes

The Jamaican men’s 4×100 meter relay team reached seventh place in the qualifiers with 38.88 seconds and secured their place in the Paris Olympics. The men’s team members are Bryan  Levell, Kadrian Goldson, Ryiem  Forde, and  Sandrey  Davison. The women’s relay team of Jodian  Williams, Remona  Burchell, Tia Clayton,  and  Alana  Reid also qualified for the Games, with Alana Reid achieving her season’s best result of 43.33 seconds.

Team members’ career achievements

Men’s team members have turned in excellent performances in prior competitions. Bryan  Levell, 20, has twice won silver medals at the World U-20 championships and has a personal best time of 38.50 seconds in the 4×100 meters. Kadrian Goldson, 26, is a World University Games winner and NACAC Championships bronze medalist with a personal best in the 4×100 relay of 38.50. Ryiem  Forde, 22,  won bronze at the World Championships and ranked in the Top 8 at the Championships as well. Sandrey  Davison, 21, won silver at the World U-20 Championships. Members of the women’s team have also earned notable achievements in their athletic careers. Jodian Williams, 30, was twice ranked in the Top 8 at the NACAC Championships and clocked a personal best in the 100 meters of 11.27 seconds. Tia Clayton, 19, is the two-time title winner at the World U-20 competition. Olympic champion Remona  Burchell, 32, has won silver at the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games and was ranked in the Top 8 at the World Indoor Championships. Alana  Reid, 19, holds the Jamaican junior record in the women’s 100 meters, and is a two-time NACAC U-18 champion and a Pan American U-20 champion. She also won a silver medal and a bronze medal at the Pan American U-20 competitions.

70 teams confirmed over two days

The first 40 teams to qualify were previously confirmed, with the final 30 teams confirmed after a second round of qualifiers scheduled for teams that miss on the first day. Teams that qualified on May 4, 2024, had their spots secured for the World Relays on May 5 during which they competed for prize money and seeding positions in Olympic lanes.
