Jamaican Hotel Makes List of Caribbean Resorts to Visit Before You Die

The travel website Thrillist.com has compiled a list of resorts in the Caribbean that tourists should consider visiting “before they die.” Among these resorts is Jamaica’s Rockhouse Hotel.

According to Thrillist, the Caribbean region is home to many accommodations that feature private butlers, infinity swimming pools, and world-class cuisine. Therefore, it decided to provide some guidance to perplexed travelers as to how to differentiate these luxury resorts from one another by singling out Caribbean destinations with “that certain something special.”

In describing why travelers should choose The Rockhouse Hotel in Negril, Thrillist cites the fact that the resort provides guests with their own private hut and terrace, located right on the water, with property-wide WiFi capability. The description goes on to discuss the view of the Caribbean Sea from the thatched-roof cottages and the location of 34 stone huts perched atop the cliffs at Pristine Cover that are linked with jungle-like paths and gardens. The resort also offers classes every day on topics ranging from African drumming to “Bob Marley portraiture.”

Rockhouse is a stunning and unique hotel combining natural beauty, strong architectural design, local materials and craftsmanship, excellent service and a relaxing, fun, and authentic Jamaican experience. Originally developed in 1972, Rockhouse was one of the first hotels on Negril’s West End. Early notable guests in the 70’s included Bob Marley, Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones. In 1994, the property was purchased by a group of Australians who continue to reinvest in its evolution and expansion while maintaining the original vibes.
