JOB TITLE: Court Officer
LOCATION: Transport Authority, Kingston, Mandeville, St. Mary and Montego Bay Offices
DESCRIPTION: Responsible for coordinating organizing recording, booking summonses in court for all prosecutions effected; Creating and maintaining data base of court proceedings, including outcome of matters of all; Public Passenger Vehicles (PPV) related summonses /submissions tickets effected by the Transport Authorityʼs Inspectors; Make representation/submission in Court on behalf of the Authority and/or Inspectors.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Law Degree; Certificate in Paralegal Studies; Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications; At least five (5) years experience in Court practice and procedure or similar field; Sound knowledge of Court procedures and techniques; Knowledge of the legislation/regulations relevant to the transportation sector; Excellent oral and written communications skills; Excellent research and advocacy skills; High level of initiative, professionalism, good work ethics, time management, and the ability to work under pressure; Superior investigative, human relation and interpersonal skills; Must own and operate a reliable motor vehicle.
