Sunshine Theatre Company and under the Patronage of Mr. Franz Hall, Consul General of Jamaica, proudly presents David Tulloch’s multi award winning dramatic play ” For My Daughter “. The multi -talented David Tulloch is quickly becoming one of Jamaica’s top writer/director and has won awards for his writing, acting, lighting design and composing musical scores. This production “For My Daughter ” received 8 Thespy nominations and won 4 awards including Outstanding Jamaican Play, Outstanding Writer, Outstanding Actress in a Lead Role – Leonie Forbes and Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role – Terri Salmon.

Miramar Fl. 33025 Showtime 8.00pm Sunday September 25th Coral Springs Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Drive, Showtime 7.00pm “For My Daughter” is written, directed, produced and acted in by David Tulloch and also stars the legendary Leonie Forbes (who came out of retirement and gave a spectacular performance that won her Best Actress award), Terri Salmon, (Best Supporting Actress), Rosie Murray (nominated also for Supporting Actress), Rushae Watson/ Ruschienne Deidrick and Akeem Mignott/David Tulloch.

The story surrounds the Parkins family who are living paycheck to paycheck. Molly Parkins (Leonie Forbes) the matriarch of the family is a retired pharmacist who lives with her daughter Janet (Rosie Murray) and her granddaughter Melissa (Ruschienne Deidrick) who is in school studying pharmacy. The relationship between Melissa and her mother is acrimonious at best as neither understand each other, but soon Melissa falls for her first real love, a young medical doctor Keith (Akeem Mignott / David Tulloch) who shows her what it takes to open her heart as well as her mind.

“For My Daughter” offers a thought provoking meditation on the struggles and sacrifices of single motherhood, the cost of deceit and the price of dignity and young love.
