Jamaicans Khadine “Miss Kitty” Hylton and Ky-mani Marley are the 2024 recipients of the prestigious Key to the Region Award presented by Tamarac City Commissioner the Hon. Marlon D. Bolton. According to the Key to the Region Committee, the award is given to individuals who are trailblazers in their fields and who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment, and dedication to public service.
Jamaicans.com was on hand to capture some key moments at the awards gala, which took place on June 7th at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Hotel North in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
A dedicated champion of women
Miss Kitty, who is a celebrated media personality, attorney, and entrepreneur, was recognised for her advocacy work towards the empowerment of women and cultural preservation. As well, she was recognised for journalism excellence and community engagement.
Spreading the message of love and unity through music
Ky-mani Marley, who is a successful singer and actor, was recognised for social justice advocacy through music and his philanthropic work. Marley’s charitable initiatives include the Love Overall Foundation, a charity created by Ky-mani to “help spread love and awareness and to build an outlet for myself and others to give back to the beautiful community of Jamaica.”

Gala Moments and Key to the Region Awards Ceremony
Commissioner Marlon Bolton introduced fellow commissioner Kicia Daniel aka “The Queen of Tamarac.” Bolton and Daniel placed their names on the awards presented at this year’s Key To Region gala in Ft. Lauderdale where, one of the recipients was Kicia’s husband, Mark Daniel, who is a developer with Pulte Homes.
A multi-million dollar real estate mogul and owner of Hibbert Group Real Estate, Claudienne Hibbert is among the most influential Black women in in the state of Florida. Claudienne began her journey when she was just 21 years old. What’s more, Claudienne, after earning her realtor license at 21, garnered a number of other impressive accolades, including Chairman’s and Presidential Elite Circle, 100 Outstanding Women of Broward County, and being among the 25 Most Influential and Prominent Black Women in Business and Leadership.
A highly acclaimed entrepreneur and renowned network marketing specialist, Stormy Wellington plays an integral role in helping women empower themselves through a number of methods, including: programs, events, merchandise, and social media content. She is affectionately known as ‘Coach Stormy’, and her mission is to create millionaires, while guiding women in their quest to transform their lives and achieve financial independence among other life goals.
A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Khadine ‘Miss Kitty’ Hylton, who is also known the name ‘Fluffy Diva’, is pretty much a household name on the island. She has been heralded as one of the most versatile and in-demand talents in the entertainment, media, and broadcasting industry. And Miss Kitty’s vivacious and infectious personality has without a doubt catapulted her to amazing heights including being one of the ambassadors for Digicel Jamaica. Over the years, ‘Fluff Diva’ has been continuously building her brand and in years passed she was a core feature of the Annual Reggae Sumfest Music Festival—aka ‘The Greatest Reggae Show on Earth’—in having served as the nightly emcee for a number of years. Miss Kitty is also very well educated after studying law and passing the bar to become an attorney-at-law.
