Popular Jamaican dancehall artiste Popcaan is enjoying considerable success. In addition to the featuring of his “Unruly Boss” on the new album by the British band Gorillaz, his 2015 single “Good Times” was selected by Coca-Cola for its latest commercial. The collaborative track features Young Thug of the United States; it was produced by DJ Jamie XX of Britain. The tune provides the soundtrack to the video introducing the soft drink giant’s “Share a Coke” 2017 summer campaign. “Good Times, also featured on the independently produced “In Colour” album from Jamie XX. It was named one of 2015’s best songs by Billboard Magazine and one of the biggest hit tunes in the global market for a local artist in that year. The song’s success was achieved in spite of misgivings from Popcaan, who was unsure of collaborating with Young Thug. While Popcaan cannot travel to the US because of visa problems, he continues to have a major presence in that lucrative market. The artiste made headlines in 2016 when his vocals  were featured in the official advertisement for the OVO-inspired clothing line for Michael Jordan.
