Jamaica’s 54th Independence Celebrations took on new meaning at Sandals Whitehouse European Village & Spa as guests of the luxury-included resort turned out for a cultural explosion of food, music, dance and the finest rum-infused libations not to mention the strums of a colorful marching band and the spirited vibrations of the Silver Birds Steel Pan Orchestra. Adding to the festivities was an authentic trip down memory lane dubbed come mek we walk and talk, which took guests back to a time when electricity was still a dream and calabash and kerosene lamps ruled the day.
