Soccer player Michail Antonio, 25, of West Ham said he turned down a chance to play for Jamaica because he is still hoping to represent England. Antonio, a forward, has been a player of interest since his move to the Hammers in September 2015, when he scored six league goals. While England overlooked him for the March 2016 friendlies versus Germany and the Netherlands, Antonio said he wants to keep doing what he is doing, holding out hope for a call-up for England, despite being courted by Jamaica. He was a championship player with Nottingham Forest until he transferred to West Ham. Antonio says he looks to players like Dale Alli of Tottenham and Jamie Vardy of Leicester for inspiration.
