Jamaica’s eight-time Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt has confirmed that he will retire from competition after running in the 100 meters and 4×100-meter relay in London at the World Championships. The event is scheduled for August 4 to August 13, 2017, at London Stadium. Before competing in London, Bolt made his final appearance in competition in his home country of Jamaica in June 2017, running the 100 meters in 10.03 seconds at an event entitled “Salute to a Legend.”. The men’s 100-meter final will take place on August 5, 2017, and the men’s 4×100-meter relay will be run on August 12. Bolt says that he wants to win in London and “retire on a winning note.”
