Quarantine implemented in Douglas Village, Belize due to floods

The quarantine that was implemented in Douglas Village in the Orange Walk District due to the flood waters, which posed a serious health risk, resulted in the evacuation of the residents on the 4th of this month will be lifted tomorrow Saturday, November 29th 2008.

The clean- up of the entire village started earlier this week and work will continue well over this weekend so that the residents can re-occupy their homes by this coming Monday.

The sanitation work is being conducted by officials from the NEMO Orange Walk District Committee, Public Health Authorities, the Belize Defence Force and villagers.
