Located on a sandbar in the Caribbean Sea, Floyd’s can only be reached by boat. It is in Parottee Bay near Black River. Floyd, the owner, built the bar after having a dream about it. He transported wooden planks from shore and completed it in 2001 as a place to hang out with his friends after a day of fishing. Soon, the local hotels saw its potential and told their guests about it. In 2004, the bar was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan, but local business owners helped to rebuild it to its original glory. A perfect escape from tourist crowds, while at the Pelican Bar you can snorkel, relax in the sun, and maybe meet some passing dolphins. Works  by local artists is on display here, and you can enjoy a great lobster meal and some Jamaican beer too!
