Bevan Earle, who is known as the “Duke of Earle,” received the key to Broward County in South Florida in recognition for his community work. Originally from Barrett Town, St. James, Earle founded the Duke of Earle Football Club in western Jamaica before settling in the United States 30 years ago. He is well known in South Florida because of his “Hot Talk” talk show, which has been on the radio there for 26 years. He also publishes “The Caribbean Voice” newspaper, a popular publication among Caribbean people. Earle was honored on the annual Jamaica Flag-Raising Day in South Florida, for his service to broadcasting and his social activism.
