Jamaica Travel Advice Q & A: We would like to stay in a hotel in Montego Bay that a colonial background?

We asked our facebook fans to help answer a question submitted to us by email: Help Answer a question traveller to Jamaica submitted to us: We are history buffs and would like to stay in a hotel in Montego Bay that has a colonial background?

M. Daley – This is a question for Jamaica Tourist Board who should have more suitable suggestions & advice in this regards.
Plus it depends on the type of accommodations you are looking for, affordability, ages of travellers, and other pertinent factors.
     
S. Lewis – Well anywhere in Mobay is Historic but The Square itself maybe surrounded with such Legacy.
           
L. Ade – A google search gave me SECRETS WILD ORCHID – it has 350 suites; caters to adults. Its interior reflects Jamaica’s British colonial history with rich, dark wood floors etc.
       
L. Ade – FALMOUTH is nearby and has a lot of GEORGIAN style attractions. Not sure about hotels

G. Crowe – Waterloo Guest House in Black River. 1st to get electricity on the island. 44 High St. Black River, St Elizabeth, Jamaica Mrs. Bell the owner is great!      

V. Davidson – Make sure to visit Rose Hall great house for the history
