This week we have a conversation with Jamaican-born dancehall artiste Miss Str8, who is based out of Austria. Miss Str8, whose given name is Sanchia Lingard, migrated to Austria in 2004. We recently sat down with Miss Str8 as she prepared for her Sting 2014 debut
Tell us about your background and how did you get started in the entertainment industry?
When the music bug hit, I Started as a dancer and gradually went into the studio. I enjoy doing both
How would you describe your sound?
My sound is fresh, flavorful dancehall sound, something like a modern day Patra.
Tell us about your latest song “Ova Me”? Did you write the song?
“Ova Me” is full of vibes and energy. It’s very catchy and females are going to love it. Yes, it was written by me. When i got the riddim the song just came to me.
What was your inspiration to write the song?
I was in the States (USA) at the time and I was just putting on paper what I was experiencing at that time.
What projects are you working on right now?
I am working on 2 main project one with Urban Legendz and one with Weedy G Soundforce. My project with Urban should be coming out between January and March and the one with Weedy G Soundforce about the same time.
